Gorges
Lodge
Gorges Lodge, is a retreat away from the
buzz and rush of the busy Victoria Falls village. It's in
a unique position atop of, and overhangs, the escarpment of
the Zambezi River, flowing 864 ft beneath it. It's a few miles
from Victoria Falls, so if you want a bit of action, it's
a short (but lengthy) drive to the frenetic pace of the tourist
town. It is far enough to avoid over-friendly touristy happy
snappy types invading your space. For the most part, our guests
come to Gorges to get away, getaway, getaway
and be
far away, from pace.

Shoestrings
- Back Packers
The Shoestrings
Backpackers is a two minute stroll to Victoria Falls town. It
has a bar, good ablutions, pool, self catering facilities plus
a cafe and plenty of people around for single travellers to
swimming mix with. Double rooms are en-suite. They arrange transport
to and from the airport and assist in organising safari activities
in, around and beyond the falls. It's
not for those baby boomers that want pampering, but is for those
that want to mix with a young crowd travelling through Africa
and share their excitement of their adventures, rowdy evenings
and simple fare; they are a great bunch and provide value for
money service at US$ 20 pp per night.

Victoria
Falls Hotel
Is
one of my very favourite spots. It's surrounded by 80 000 hectares
of unspoilt African bush and is set high on a plateau looking
westward over a waterhole that draws many herds of buffalo,
zebra & elephant to water every evening. Sunsets are often
spectacular as its position is elevated above the tree line
and one often sees towering cumulous nimbus clouds silver lined
as the sun sets to the west. After only twenty years of existence
it has gained world-renowned acclaim as a safari destination.
It's three kilometres from the Victoria Falls.
