Ever
dreamed of landing a 10 pound lunker as the sun breaks
the horizon and the mist rises off the water? Well we
can make that dream reality. We offer luxury lodges
in the heart of the Bubye River Conservancy located
in the south western lowveld of Zimbabwe. Our private
dams are open only to HHK Safaris clients and these
under fished waters regularly produce bass in excess
of eight pounds.
Set
in the heart of the Conservancy, Ripple Creek, Fimbiri,
Nyati, Malangani and Bozzoli dams are all stocked with
the Florida strain of large mouth bass. Year round warm
waters and the abundance of fodder fish ensure anglers
will average four pounds per fish or more on a days
catch.
The lowveld dams are serviced
by two ultra luxurious lodges, namely Ripple Creek and
Fimbiri Lodge. Where else in the world can you hunt
a large mouth lunker yet at the same time enjoy the
splendour of the African savannah and its wildlife?
Both
Ripple Creek and Fimbiri offer the serious or weekend
anglers either fully catered safaris, scrumptious meals,
and ice cold beverages, or arrive and enjoy yourself
on a self catering basis. Serious bass anglers are encouraged
to bring their own boats, howeever boats can be provided.
In addition to the magnificient bass fishing the lowveld
dams have superb bream fishing, and for the less patient
angler it takes only a few hours to fill a keep net.
It makes for great family fun and certinly one way to
get the younger family members hooked on fhishing.
The Bubye River Conservancy
is located some 70km north of Beitbridge along the Bulawayo
to Beitbridge road. With only 17km of dirt road to the
main headquarters, the area is easily accessible by two
wheel drive vehicles. A 2000m compacted gravel airstrip
capable of handling all turbo prop or propellor driven
aircraft services the conservancy and is within a short
drive from the lodges.
