The
education system in South African public
schools is historically sound. Recent years
have brought a shift in popularity from
public education to private education as
it is rumored that public education is waning.
So we took a survey of a 100 parents in
the know to find schools most highly regarded:
whether public or private. We do not attempt
to provide a definitive answer on educational
options, but merely to provide some information
to start you off. We strongly recommend
that you make your own enquiries as decisions
concerning your children's future are personal
choices that the writer does not want responsibility
for.
You will find for
the most part your children will enjoy schooling
in South Africa; of course they will miss
their friends at home, but I'll guarantee
that if your child has reasonable social
skills, SA kids will flock to meet the newby
and their pining will disappear in a week
or two.
Our
winters are mild. Sport plays an important
part of the curriculum all year round. Most
winter & summer daytime temperature
range between 21 & 30 degrees C. It
is important to encourage your child to
participate in sport because South Africans
are sport mad. Friendships are formed instantly
on the rugby & cricket field; whether
or not your child is a star performer. In
SA it's more about how you play the game.
Courage & commitment are important values,
not necessarily the strongest players win
friends. Most schools field several teams
per age group. Your child will have every
opportunity to be involved.
