Introduction
Johannesburg is not exactly a tourist friendly city. It's
more geared to business. However if you know where to find
what you are looking for it can be as good a holiday destination
as any other in South Africa. It is well positioned to launch
you into safari areas, better in fact than any of the coastal
cities. Victoria Falls is 1h40 away and Cape Town 1h50,
so it's in the sweet spot of the racket to get anywhere
fast. Things also cost less in Johannesburg as the citizens
are not looking to make a fast buck out of tourists. In
my experience, once being a foreigner to SA, Johannesburg
citizens are easier to deal with. They make quick decisions
and there is less schmoozing to get a deal and service is
better.

artists' works. Good value, we think.
